The ultimate Baja experience

As you embark on this tour of the Baja California Desert, you’ll discover an arid expanse where nature’s raw beauty is both provocative and inspiring, from dense cacti forests down to to coastal lagoons where incredibly friendly whales may approach cheerful boats.

Guerrero Negro is also known as a birding hotspot, hosting thousands of migratory birds among its pristine estuary ecosystems and isolated salt flats. The largest salt mine in the world is also located in the area, where semi-desert landscapes and hidden cave paintings add to this wonderful nature tour.

The experience concludes with a 2.5-hour flight back to Ensenada, where you may decide if you want to head back to San Diego or maybe spend one last night in Mexico.

Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Ensenada, Mexico!

  • Once we meet, we will head south and cross the border into Mexico. Highway No. 1 is a beautiful scenic road with great views of the Pacific Ocean as we head to Valle de Guadalupe wine country, where we may visit one or two wineries before checking in at the hotel. 
  • If you are interested in any active experience, we will find time to do it throughout the day.
  • Dinner will be held at one of the best restaurants in Mexico.

Day 2A little more wine, and back to California!

  • Depending on your group’s interests, we may learn about olive oil blends at a local factory, visit other wineries or head for any of the optional activities before heading back to the US border.
